Dr Tim Dalgleish (of the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit) successfully applied for and has been awarded a grant from the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Scheme for “A Randomised Controlled Feasibility Trial of a Novel Transdiagnostic Psychological Intervention for Mood and Anxiety Disorders”.
We have developed a new psychological treatment for adult depression and anxiety disorders. This treatment (the Modular Protocol for Mental Health: MP:MH) treats the symptoms that are common to depression and anxiety, and incorporates the best available techniques from existing manual-based treatments into the one treatment package. The research project will recruit secondary care patients from local NHS services and will open in 2016.
